Youth Services

Children whose families and homes are unable to provide consistent safety and protection may develop coping strategies to help them survive and function day to day. These kinds of learned behaviours make sense when physical and/or emotional threats are present. However, they can be counterproductive and interfere with life later on.
Trauma can affect children in a multitude of ways growing up – behaviour, thinking, learning, emotional responses and relationships. So, we have put trauma at the centre of our youth services.
This is who our Youth Programme helps:
And this is what our Youth Programme offers:
Results, Rewards, Resets
Our trauma-informed programme helps young people by offering a safe environment and therapeutic support. Establishing these routines can reduce behavioural issues and improve mental health in the following ways:
- Improve confidence, communication and decision-making
- Reduce isolation and negative peer influences
- Create real routes into training, apprenticeships and work
- Build trust in adults and services among young people who previously felt abandoned or misunderstood

One of the companies we work with is Stellar Scaffolding. They offer scaffolding and health & safety training, as well as a pathway to employment.
In 2025, ITV News visited STORM to talk to one of our youth programme graduates, who followed that exact path to employment with Stellar Scaffolding. His story shows the power of targeted support and how a route to employment can change a young person’s life.
